About our church
Background & History
Tamil Methodist Church Sg. Pelek is church one of the 48 churches under the Tamil Annual Conference of the Methodist Church in Malaysia. The work in Sg. Pelek started in the 1950’s by Rev. J.A.P. Oswald. Later on 21st August 1983 it was the Tamil Church Sg. Pelek was formed as a church by Rev. John Kovilpillai. Today, it is the home church for over 100 members from the surrounding area.
Nilai Outreach
Another part of our community
The Nilai outreach work begun in 2002, catering for Nepali and Telugu speaking migrant workers. Then in August 2003, the a separate Tamil service was started to meets the needs of local Tamil speaking people. God is good to us today the work has grown the Tamil service is now a bilingual service in Tamil and English. Currently an average of about 10 families actively worshipping in Nilai with the numbers growing. The bilingual service is at 5.30 p.m. and the Nepali service is at 2.00 p.m. The Bible studies are conducted forthnightly, on Wednesdays at 7.30 p.m. Fasting and prayer meetings are on Fridays at 8.00 p.m. The outreach coordinator for the Nilai ministry is Mr. Joseph Rao (012-2465618).
