About Our Development

Tamil Methodist Church Sg. Pelek is located in the vicinity of Sg. Pelek, a small coastal town in the south of Selangor. The town is famous for its oil palm estates and other small agriculture businesses. The Church’s vision is to reach out to people from all walks of life through its community projects such as helping the poor, needy and underprivileged. To achieve its vision, the Church is in the midst of raising funds to build a decent place of worship as a beacon in this vicinity. Presently the church is in urgent of decent and proper place of worship. For the past 30 years the Church is worshipping in an old defunct building which was formerly used as classrooms by the Methodist English School (M.E.S.). This building is very old, badly infected by termites, rotting and very unsafe but at present we do not do not have any alternatives hence we continue to worship in this wooden run down shack (please see the video clip below to witness the deplorable condition of the Church building). However we are hope that will have a new place of worship soon. Since this is an old town most of the old buildings have been done away with and replaced with new buildings. Due to the lack of funds, the Church is unable to put up the new building which has been beautifully designed by Mr. Richard Eng of Reng Corporation, an Architectural and Planning company. The cost to put up the new structure is estimated at RM 1.5 million. To date through various fund raising projects we have raised RM 300,000.00. The members of the church are simple people with very few professionals. Therefore we appeal to your good self and generosity to help us build the House of God. We truly believe that the God of heaven will richly reward you as you give for the building of His temple. Give towards the building of the Lord’s and you and your generation will be blessed.
